Holy Trinity Cathedral (Kidist Selassie)
This grand cathedral is one of the most significant religious landmarks in Ethiopia. Built in the early 20th century, Holy Trinity Cathedral is an architectural marvel with a massive dome, intricate stained glass windows, and beautifully carved statues and murals. The cathedral also houses the tombs of Emperor Haile Selassie and Empress Menen Asfaw, making it a site of deep historical and national reverence.
Visitors can also explore the museum inside the compound, which holds artifacts of religious, royal, and cultural significance. Outside, the garden cemetery is the final resting place of many notable Ethiopian patriots, artists, and war heroes. A visit here offers both spiritual ambiance and a closer look at Ethiopia’s modern history.
